U
A spectacular & scintillating
technical festival, Tech 4 U, was jointly hosted by the students
and staff of the
Schools of CSE and ECE in SMVDU from 3rd
to 6th February 2006. The festival encompassed
exciting and competitive events which were all technical in
nature, were. These included software competition, circuit
design, working models, Quiz Competitions, technical dumb
charades, etc. Vice Chancellor of university Prof. N.K Bansal
inaugurated the festival. Dr. Parveen Lehana from Dept. of
Electronics, Jammu university was invited as a guest speaker and
delivered a presentation on “Speech Synthesis: The Future of
Machines”. The prizes, sponsored by M/s Spark Systems &
technologies, Jammu, were distributed by the Vice Chancellor on
6th February 2006.

Lectures
A technical presentation and interaction was made by the
representatives from M/s AMD, one of the largest manufacturers
of microprocessors regarding the advances made in the field of
microprocessor technology.
Dr. Vishal Garg, Assistant Professor, IIIT Hyderabad and an
alumnus of IIT Delhi gave a talk on the topic “Building
Automation and Control”. Besides speaking about the new
technologies being used in building automation, he demonstrated
some products which are used in the building automation process.
