RESEARCH

The emphasis of research in the school is on Indian Philosophy & Culture, but generally the research proposals are not to be confined to the same only. Later on the school may undertake research in the area of Comparative Indian and Western Philosophy, Studies in Civilizations, Philosophy of Religion and Comparative Religion, Science and Religion etc.

Dr. Varun K. Tripathi has published several research papers in philosophical journals. Currently he is editing a monograph entitled ''Kashmir Shaivism and Tantrism'' for publication.

 Anil K. Tewari is writing his PhD dissertation on the topic ''The Concept of Consciousness and Personal Identity in Buddhism'' to be submitted soon in IIT Kanpur. He has published several papers in various referred philosophy journals. He has also presented a paper in an international conference held in London.

 Sumanta S. Sharma is shortly to submit his PhD dissertation on the topic ''Syllogistic Reasoning: A Diagrammatic Study'' at IIT Kanpur. Besides, he has published a number of papers in philosophical journals. He has also participated in international conferences held in Switzerland, Germany and Poland.

 Hari Narayanan V. has submitted his doctoral dissertation ''Paradigms and Prospects in Cognitive Science: A Philosophical Enquiry'' and is shortly to defend it at IIT Kanpur. Currently, he is preparing a monograph titled ''Language, Categories and the Cognitive Basis of Science'' for publication.
