School of Languages offers PhD to candidates in English
Literature and English Language Teaching. Admission to PhD
programme is possible any time in the year through University
Research Committee (URC). Limited number of research Assistance
ship (RAP) for PhD students is available which is decided on the
basis of merit by the School, subject to university rules. Some
research areas of emphasis are as follows:
- British Literature.
- African
Literature.
- Indian Writing in English.
- Gender Studies.
- Generative Approach to Languages.
- Field Linguistics.
