Brief History

School of Business, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is the first and only institution in the State of J&K that offers NBA accredited MBA programme. The School of Business adopts quality procedures and practices as per the international norms with high level of industrial exposure for developing best of the minds for the corporate and society. The School has established itself as one of India's leading centres of excellence in management education and research.

The School of Business has a contemporary courseware supported with well-equipped computer laboratory containing the latest hardware, software and databases such as SPSS, Prowess & EIS which are used for statistical and trend analysis. The School follows case based pedagogy supported with Harvard and Ivey league case studies. With a state of art infrastructures facilities, and highly qualified faculty members, the School provides a enabling environment towards learning & development.

16062020deanMessageThe SMVDU (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University) MBA is the flagship programme of School of Business, Faculty of Management and dedicated and delivered as a complete solution to the problems relating to growth, development and sustainability of a corporate that comes across in its day to day commercial operations besides Ph.D. programme in Management. School of Business emerged as an excellent seat of learning in Management in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and is the first and only NBA accredited management programme in the State. There are thirteen worthy faculty members in the roll of School of Business, attributed with diverse academic profiles. The School has also earned consultancy capability over the years working collaboratively with different sectors of the economy on strategies to improve performance of the organization across different levels of management. We at SOB do not peddle stock solutions rather we use our expertise for analysis and implementation of management's formulated policies in order to generate immediate impact on the business of the clients. SoB does have an organized, personable, pragmatic and value creating band of faculty members who are capable of helping the management of a firm to take right decisions at right time. It is involved in leading research in diverse areas of business management. Leadership, experience and analytical thinking skills and expertise are some of our special features. The essence of management programme is to produce managers who take right decisions at right time in order to make optimum utilization of scarce economic resource. SoB encourages its faculty members to keep pace along with dynamic socio-economic world through continuous updatation of knowledge and expertise in the field of management. It is our practice to revise the curricula at regular interval in order to transmit time –honoured management education to the MBA aspirants whom SoB treats as its valued customers. Imparting value based education to the students is considered to be religious responsibility of SoB in order to make them face unforeseen challenges of future.
